ISTE Standards states, “Students use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others.” I believe that this blogging project has helped me support the learning of other individuals about Montessori education by sharing my own experience, blogging about the information that I had recently researched, and providing easily accessible resources that can be used by others to further their own education themselves. In addition, this blogging process has really enhanced my own knowledge on Montessori education. People say that when one is able to explain to someone else that they are truly knowledgeable on the subject. By researching and then blogging, I was able to use technology to increase upon what I already knew.
Aside from learning about the different aspects of Montessori, I was also able to learn more about blogging in general. This was the first blog post that I have ever done, so I learned on a curve the different ways to engage my readers into learning about Montessori schools and how it can be relevant in their lives. Creating a blog requires a lot more work than I would have imagined and there were basic aspects of the actually creation of the website (hyper-linking, pages, settings, etc) that I learned from this activity and will be able to use in the future.
